Whether you're a seasoned leader, a rising professional, or passionate about giving back, there's a place for you to contribute your talents and make meaningful connections. Joining a committee is not only a way to support our goals—it’s a chance to collaborate with like-minded individuals, develop your skills, and help shape the future of Toms River’s business landscape.

Women In Leadership Committee

Meets: In-person at Spire Coffeehouse, 1922 Hooper Ave, Toms River every 3rd Wednesday of the month
Purpose: Support, promote, empower and recognize the business women of the GTRCC. 
Mission:  Empower business women of the GTRCC to achieve success on their own terms and to provide opportunities for women to connect with and support one another.  Deliver engaging conversations that contribute to the personal and professional development of our members. 
Vision: Shape the future of businesswomen in the Greater Toms River area by fostering connections, providing opportunities for development and facilitating success through business and career growth.

  • Provide a safe, confidential environment where members can openly engage in discussions.

Young Emerging Professionals Committee

Meets:  4th Wednesday of each month 10:am via Zoom

Committee Board:

Group Description: The GTRCC Young Emerging Professionals (YEP) Group empowers the young professionals of the greater Toms River area to achieve success on their own terms and provides opportunities for young professionals to connect with and support one another. If you are under the age of 40, this group is for you!
Purpose: Support, promote, empower and recognize the young professionals of the GTRCC. 
Mission:  Empower the young professionals of the GTRCC to achieve success on their own terms and to provide opportunities for young professionals to connect with and support one another.  Deliver engaging conversations that contribute to the personal and professional development of our members.

Nonprofit Committee

Meets: every 4th Thursday of the month via Zoom
Chairwomen:  Donna Carlson and Dawn Samaritano, Ocean’s Harbor House

Purpose:

  • To encourage and support area nonprofits by providing resources, guidance and visibility.
  • To connect area nonprofits – which are both consumers and providers of service/expertise – with chamber business members.

Vision: The Greater Toms River Chamber of Commerce Nonprofit Committee will be a leader in strengthening the area’s nonprofit community and the catalyst in establishing vibrant and productive relationships between the nonprofit and for-profit members of the chamber. 
Mission Statement: The Nonprofit Committee will provide opportunities for professional development designed to strengthen area nonprofit organizations; provide a forum for nonprofit organizations to share best practices; provide opportunities to network and form collaborative relationships with for-profit chamber members; and provide visibility for the issues and causes being addressed by area nonprofit organizations.

Values:

The Nonprofit Committee recognizes that nonprofits are a valuable asset to both communities and businesses.  We recognize and value the cultural, economic, and social impact of nonprofits which help to enhance and enrich our community.  

Goals/Projects:

The committee will undertake the following goals and projects:

  • To encourage and increase involvement of the chamber’s nonprofit members with the organization
  • To stimulate interaction and collaboration between the chamber’s nonprofit and for-profit members
  • To act as a resource for all members of the Greater Toms River Chamber of Commerce.

Business Technology Committee

Meets: 1st Wednesday every other  month via Zoom
Chairman:  John LeMay, Oceantec
Mission: The GTRCC Technology Committee mission is to support business growth for Chamber members and the greater Toms River area through the use of technology.

 Key Pillars:
  •   Education on efficient and effective use of technology to support business growth
  •   Improve awareness of new and emerging technologies
  •   Support the use of technology to innovate new business services and categories
Activities:
  •   Committee meetings will be scheduled for the first Thursday of each month at 9 am via Zoom. A meeting agenda will be developed by Committee leadership and distributed to Committee members prior to each meeting.
  •   The Committee will host guest speakers on a regular basis (quarterly?) to deliver presentations on various technology related topics. Presentations to be open to all Chamber members and possibly to the general public.

Legislative Committee

Meets : every 4th Thursday every other  month via Zoom
Chairman: Phil Brilliant, Brilliant Environmental Services

The GTRCC Legislative Committee is a fully engaged committee that takes proactive stances on state, county, and city legislation, projects and initiatives that impact regional businesses and the economy. Committee members attend important legislative meetings and not only disseminate information to the membership but seek solutions for some of the most pressing issues facing businesses in the membership, the community & beyond.
